The first Costa Rican woman to reach Everest, the highest peak in the world.

      Ligia Madrigal's feat of conquering the summit of Mount Everest represents a representative, significant and important event for Costa Rica. First, because being the first woman to reach the highest peak in the world, she becomes an icon of empowerment for all women in Costa Rica, since with her achievement she inspires many other women to achieve their dreams and continue breaking all the barriers associated with gender. Second, it is the incentive for tourism, since with her feat she has captured international attention and this could be used to promote Costa Rica as a tourism and adventure destination, which offers its visitors green landscapes and impressive mountains. Finally, there is national pride for the great achievement attained at the sporting level, Costa Rica can now say that there was a Costa Rican woman who reached the summit of Everest, defying extreme conditions, leaving high the courage, talent and determination of Costa Ricans, which strengthens our identity as Ticos. To sum up, female empowerment, the promotion of tourism and sporting achievement are three important aspects resulting from Ligia Madrigal's feat.

My Favorite Summer Vacation

        My favorite summer vacations were the ones I took to Guanacaste when I was little. My grandmother created a tradition of gathering the whole family at her house during the holidays. Currently, this tradition was lost because my grandmother passed away, however, these holidays were my favorites and significant for different reasons. First, family time, because the whole family lives in different parts of the country and during the year we do not see each other, so during these summer dates I had the opportunity to see my grandparents, uncles and cousins, in one place and at the same time. Second, Guanacaste has a hot climate but ideal for different walks and family activities, so we take advantage of it to visit beaches, do outdoor activities and take adventure tours. Lastly, the traditional food of Guanacaste definitely made these summer vacations my favorites because my grandmother always had tortillas, rosquillas, tanelas, purple corn atol and the famous chicheme prepared for us to drink. As a sum up, sharing with family, taking walks together and enjoying traditional Guanacaste foods was what I enjoyed most about these summer vacations and that is why they were my favorites.

 “A Memorable Journey” ✈

      There are three reasons why went to Istanbul located in Türkiye was a memorable journey to me. First, Istanbul is one of the most touristic places in the world and offers a treasure Hidden with diverse places to see. From the majestic mosques such as the iconic and prominent Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque to the most vibrant colors of the species and items found in the Grand Bazaar. Second, I was surprised by the wide range of culinary delights I could taste. From savoring traditional Turkish cuisine, such as delicious kebabs, delicious Turkish breakfast and the delicious dessert called “Baklava”, to drinking the famous apple tea and Turkish coffee. Finally, I was captivated by the cultural diversity and listening to a tune five times a day throughout Istanbul making the call to prayer, every moment was something impressive. As a result, Istanbul located in Türkiye was an unforgettable experience filled with charming sights, rich cultural heritage, and incredibly nice people.

Blog Entry #2: -Write a descriptive paragraph about your Writing Habits.

“Writing Habits”

      My habits writing is characterized by a long process of analysis, organization of ideas and inspiration until I achieve satisfaction with what I write. The first thing I do is to understand very well what the topic of the article I am going to write consist of. Then, I define three main ideas and I proceed to complement each one with more ideas that support the main ideas. The previous structure is what is generally known as an Outline. The writing process often involves difficulties and becomes a challenge, especially when texts have to be improved to be able to write in advanced and more complex language. I occasionally read texts, but it isn’t my usual practice to write. However, I have started writing short paragraghs in order to practice and improve my writing skills. Generally, my writing processes are based on planning and, most of the time, spontaneity, and creativity. The most difficult thing I had to go through is knowing how to deal with the lack of concentration and time that I invest in writing the text, but once I achieve it, it becomes a rewarding activity with satisfactory results. To conclude, the process of writing is not easy and learning to write takes time, but with a little planning, organization of ideas, practice, and creativity it is enough to improve this skill.👆
